"What Lies Beneath", Lois Schklar

Lois Schklar’s exhibition, "What Lies Beneath", is a departure from her minimal line drawing installations. To get through the darkness of Covid, she created a “happy place” by obsessively mixing colours and applying them to an assortment of small canvases and boards she had accumulated over the years. The resulting work is an exploration of different techniques for applying paint to a surface while playing with colour both on and off the canvas.

"What Lies Beneath" can be seen at Thus Gallery, an informal exhibition space just north of Queen Street West.

After the opening, the work will be on view Fridays, Saturdays (12-5pm) and by appointment through July 6th.
